Arcanum Translatum

Arcanum Translatum is a project of exchange of correspondence between books from different Libraries within the philosophical-mystical section, through hidden messages inside them.
By leaving inside the books small format drawings that answer back segments of the pages from other philosophical and/or pseudoscientific works, as well as the ancient world views the exchange of messages is established.
The project began during the residency of BAR project (Barcelona, 2018), among the Arus Library and Tapiés Foundation.
In 2019 the correspondence between the Library of the National Museum of Anthropology and History and the Public Library of New York, with volumes about codices and Mayan world view, on one side, and on the other with the Corpus Hermeticum and authors as Aleister Crowey, Rudolf Steiner and the Three Initiates.
In addition, an itinerary of messages began from the Bibliothèque Nationale of Paris; Newberry Library; the Public Library of Chicago; La Biblioteca Nazionale Universitaria; La Biblioteca Reale di Torino; the National Library of Anthropology and History and the General Library of the Congress in Mexico City; Juan José Arreola State Public Library Zapopan; Bibliothèque cantonale des Grisons, Chur, Switzerland; Reykjavik City Library, Island; Zentralbibliothek in Zürich; the Public Library of Andratx -Jaume Bover; and the Sorbone University Abu Dhabi Library.
The drawings that remain hidden inside the works until one consultant come across them and decides to take them, or not.

Arcanum Translatum es un proyecto de intercambio de correspondencias entre libros de distintas Bibliotecas dentro de la sección filosófica- mística, mediante mensajes ocultos dentro de éstos.
Dejando dentro de los ejemplares dibujos de pequeño formato que replican segmentos de páginas pertenecientes a otras obras filosóficas y/o pseudo-científicas, así como de cosmovisiones ancestrales, es que se establece el intercambio de mensajes.
El proyecto comenzó durante la residencia de BAR Project (Barcelona, 2018), entre las Biliotecas Arus y Fundación Tapiés.
En 2019 se completaron las correspondencias entre la Biblioteca del Museo Nacional de Antropología e Historia y la Public Library of New York, con volúmenes que trataban sobre códices y cosmovisión maya, por un lado, y por otro con el Corpus Herméticum y autores como Aleister Crowey, Rudolf Steiner, los Tres Iniciados, etc.
Además, se comenzó un itinerario de mensajes partiendo de la Bibliotheque Nationale de Paris; la Biblioteca Nacional de Antropología e Historia y la Biblioteca General del Congreso de México; la Biblioteca Pública y Newberry Library, en Chicago; la Biblioteca Nacional Universitaria de Torino; la Biblioteca Real de Torino; la Biblioteca pública del Estado Juan José Arreola en Zapopan; la Biblioteca de la Ciudad e Reykjavik; la biblioteca del Museum of Human Achievement en Austin; la Biblioteca Central de Zurich; la Biblioteca Reale di Torino; Biblioteca cantonal de Grisones, Chur, Suiza; la Biblioteca Pública Municipal de Andratx – Jaume Bover; y la Biblioteca Interuniversitaria de la Sorbona.
Los dibujos permanecen escondidos dentro de las obras hasta que algún consultante se tope con ellos y decida tomarlos, o no.
